Benefits Of Joining The NITSIG

• There is currently No Charge to join the NITSIG.

 

• The NITSIG is the largest network of Insider Threat Mitigation Security Professionals in the U.S. and globally. (1000+)

• The NITSIG in conjunction with the Insider Threat Defense Group (ITDG), has conducted extensive research for over 10 years, and evaluated over 4,600+ documented cases of Insider Threats in the U.S. Government, State Governments, Law Enforcement, Department of Defense, Intelligence Community Agencies, Critical Infrastructure Providers, Defense Industrial Base contractors, large and small businesses.

• The NITSIG maintains the largest public repository of Insider Threat incidents, and has received a great deal of praise for publishing these incidents on a weekly basis to our various websites. (Insider Threat Incidents E-Magazine) These incidents provide a very clear picture of how COSTLY and DAMAGING an Insider Threat incidents can be. In the MILLIONS To BILLIONS!!!

• Mitigating Insider Threats risks is a TEAM EFFORT. The collaboration and sharing of information and best practices among NITSIG members will lead to a more focused and concentrated national effort in helping organizations mitigate Insider Threat risks.

• NITSIG members may attend meetings at No Charge, and will receive comprehensive training, guidance and best practices that they can use to establish an Insider Threat Program to protect their organizations data, information systems, networks and personnel from Insider Threat risks.

• Depending on the meeting location, NITSIG meetings may be streamed live or recorded for future viewing.

• NITSIG members can earn Continuing Professional Education Credits (CPEs) for security certifications, by attending NITSIG meetings.

• The NITSIG provides an Insider Threat Mitigation Website with various documents, resources and training that will assist security professionals with their Insider Threat Mitigation efforts.

• NITSIG members will be added to the e-mail distribution list and receive meeting presentations, announcements for training / webinars  and other relevant Insider Threat Mitigation resources.

 

 

NITSIG Membership Application

To join the NITSIG you must complete and sign the membership application.  Instructions for e-mailing the application to the NITSIG are in the application.

 

Once the NITSIG receives your application, it will be reviewed for approval. You will receive an e-mail once your application has been approved.

 

A valid photo ID will need to be presented for admittance to NITSIG meetings.

NITSIG Chapters

NITSIG meetings are currently held at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU-APL), in Laurel, Maryland and in Melbourne, Florida.
